Wednesdays 6:00-7:00pm  (May-Oct.)
First session will be May 8th

Our Train-a-Bull program is a FREE program for all pit bull type dogs and their owners in Sheboygan County.  We want to see less pit bulls in our shelter, and helping you create a lasting, loving bond with your dog is another way to do that.

We understand that your pit bull may not like all other dogs, THAT'S OK!  We specialize in the block heads, we TOTALLY get it!!  We are not here to judge you or your dog, we understand that you get enough of that everywhere else.  We do, however, ask that you completely commit to 4 weeks of training, one night per week.  If you know you can't do this, please don't occupy a spot that someone else is waiting for.  Sign up for the next round of classes.  Because we deal with some dogs that are not dog-friendly, we need to allow enough space for them, and space is limited.

We are excited to announce our new location is a continued partnership with
Critter Care Animal Clinic.
Critter Care Animal Clinic, located at 2734 Calumet Dr., Sheboygan, will allow us to use their backyard area for classes!
We can't continue to support the community without support from businesses like them!!

Classes are held every Wednesday night from 6:00-7:00 pm.  YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP TO ATTEND.  To sign up, just email us at and put "training" in the subject line.  This is a first come first served class, however, there is a way you can move to the front of the line.

1. You adopted your pit bull from Sheboygan County Humane Society or another Sheboygan County rescue

That's it!  If your block head is adopted, you're in!!!  We just need proof of adoption.  Just attach a picture of the paperwork with your email.  Super simple!!!

All dogs must be accompanied by an adult, and no children under 18 are allowed at classes alone.  Due to the fact that not all dogs like other dogs,  we cannot take a chance that your child might get tangled up in a doggy disagreement, so PLEASE be responsible with your child and dog.  And let's face it, not all dogs are comfortable around children.  An unknown child might be scary to a dog.  Please be respectful of this when you attend.

All dogs must also be up to date on vaccines; rabies, distemper, and bordetella.  You will be asked to show proof of this at the first session.  Please contact a local veterinary clinic to schedule your appointment or visit one of the low-cost clinics available through Cold Noses and Whiskers on facebook.

We promote positive re-enforcement training so bring LOTS OF TREATS for your dog!!!!  New this year, we are teaming up with Off Leash Manners for R+ training.  This means NO harsh training methods will be allowed in class (no prong collars or electric collars please).  Off Leash Manners will help you work with your dog without such items.

~ps, depending on the time of year, there may be a waiting list.  you will be contacted as to when your class will start
